The Influenster Rose VoxBox

This box was so AMAZING!!!  I think I loved just about everything in it!  My box came with Dr.Scholl's Cozy Cushions, Kiss Gradation Polishes, a Lindt Lindor Truffle, a Rimmel Retro Glam Mascara, and a Belvita Bar.  I would first like to thank Influenster for sending me all of these wonderful products to try out!  Ok now onto the reviews…..

Dr. Scholl's Cozy Cushions

These are so warm and so comfy!  Living in Southern CA I don't really have the need for warm boots but since I was sent these wonderful little clouds to walk on I had to go out and get a pair!  I really enjoy these cushions!  They really are like walking on little clouds!  They fit nicely in my shoes which surprised me a little.  I have never really purchased anything like this in the past so I was expecting to have to really work to get it to fit in my shoes properly but it was very easy.  The price point on these is also good!  These cozy cushions are definitely a thumbs up!!!

Kiss Gradation Polishes

I LOVED this polish!!!  The colors were beautiful and it was really easy to get the gradation look even doing it on myself.   I did think that the polish got a little thick since there was 3 different coats to apply and then I applied a top coat, but it looked beautiful.  This polish lasted me about about 3 days before chipping but on the 4th day it was chipping really bad.  I feel like this is about average for nail polishes so I was ok with it.  The bottles of polish are on the small side but since you only need a little bit of product they will last a long time.  I feel like these are bit underpriced as I have seen them at my local stores for around $6.  These look great and last just as long as any other polish so I think they could charge a bit more for this product but of course I am not going to complain that I can get a great polish at a great price!  Kiss Gradation Polish is a BIG thumbs up!!!!

Lindt Lindor Truffle

DELICIOUS!!!  Ok so this was one easy for me since I am a huge chocolate lover!  I have had these truffles before so I knew what to expect but I was not disappointed at all.  I like that these are available at most stores and have a good price point.  These always make a great gift for a chocolate lover.  Lindt Lindor Truffels a thumbs up!

Rimmel Retro Glam Mascara

I really liked the formula of this mascara but I can't say I loved it.  The mascara wand is quite big and I did not like the bristles on the wand.  I felt the wand made it difficult to apply and caused it get clumpy. Since I didn't care for the product overall, the price point wouldn't be ok for me.  I am a Professional Makeup Artist so I have used many mascaras over the years and this one did not make the cut for me.  Rimmel Retro Glam Mascara is a thumbs down….

Belvita Bar

This was delicious and a very convenient breakfast on the go.  My 19 month old daughter loves them too!  Since getting this VoxBox we have purchased a couple boxes of these!  I have only tried the Blueberry Biscuits but they are delicious!  I have also seen that Belvita makes a soft/chewy version of this as well.  I think you get a lot for your money on these.  I have seen these at many stores locally as well.  I will continue to have these on hand since they were such a hit in my house!  Belvita is a big thumbs up!!!!

Overall, this was the best box ever!  All of these products applied to me and it was wonderful trying them all out.  I really enjoyed this and I want to say Thank You Again Influenster!!!  I would also like to thank Dr. Scholl's, Kiss, Lindt, Rimmel, and Belvita for allowing me to try their products.

I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

Week 2 Cloth Diapering

Hey Everyone!  So this is now week 2 of cloth diapering!  We are doing great!  No more leaks durring the day but we have been using a disposable at night to avoid any sleep disruption.  I ended up trading in the Thirsties Duo Diapers that didn't fit for some Bottombumper Diapers.  So far the Bottombumers are ok.  I think I may need to get used to them since they are designed so differently than the other diapers I have.

I would say that my favorite diaper is still the BumGenius Diaper, but I do have a concern with it being an AIO diaper.  I feel like the diaper will wear out faster since the entire thing needs to go into the dryer every time I wash it.  I did order a BumGenius 4.0 Pocket Diaper that should be arriving some time today.  Hopefully I like that one and it works just as well as the Freetime Diaper we currently have.

We are currently using the Allens Naturally Diaper Detergent.  What is your favorite cloth diaper detergent?

First Impressions on Cloth Diapering

Madison is almost 6 months old and since she was born I have been curious about and considered cloth diapering.  Friends and family have told me how gross it is and how it just isn't worth the hassle.  I finally got to a point where I really wanted to be educated on it and try it out.  I found a place called Rosie Posie Baby that offered a 2 week trial with brand new cloth diapers!  I was so excited!  The diapers that I chose to try were: 2 BumGenius FreeTime, 2 Tots Bots Easy Fit, and 2 Rump-a-rooz.  I also got 2 Thirsties Duo diapers but they were too small so I was unable to use them.   I am going to try to trade them for another diaper so I can get the most use out of my trial period.

I started using my cloth diapers on Sunday, October 14th.  Sunday went great during the day we had no leaks!  However, Sunday night we did have a leak.  We had on a Rump-a-rooz and it leaked out of the top of the diaper, which is strange for a girl.  I am thinking that its possible that my husband didn't have the waist band tight enough.  On Monday, I had 2 more leaks with the Tots Bots Easy Fit diapers.  This time the leak was around the legs.  I am not sure if I just waited too long to change her diaper or what.  Monday night we decided to put her in a disposable to avoid disrupting her sleep due to a diaper leak like Sunday night.

In my trial I was also given some pre-folds and a doubler.   I am going to try putting some pre-folds in the less bulky diapers and see if that helps with absorbency.  I will also try adding the one doubler that I got to one of the less bulky diapers and see if that helps at all.

So far I have not had any leaks in the BumGenuis FreeTime diapers.

Since this is only my 3rd day using cloth diapers I am in no way close to making up my mind on them, but I will say that disposables have been far easier with a lesser learning curve.  I have never had a leak with my Pampers!

I am still using disposable wipes as that is just easier for us and we are also using Bummis Bio Soft Disposable Liners in the diapers too.  I do like the liners for the poop.  It makes it so much easier to just flush the poop and it keeps the actual diaper much cleaner.

The cleaning of the diapers has not been a big deal for me at all and I haven't noticed it making the house smell or anything.  Those were some of our concerns when we were considering cloth diapers.  I do put the dirty diapers inside of a wet bag until it is time for washing.

I am going to continue on with my 2 week trial and see how I feel at the end of the 2 weeks.  If I end up exchanging out the Thirsties that are too small I will update this post and add in my experience with those diapers.

Do you have experience with cloth diapers?  What are your favorites for day & night?

The Reviews Are In: Mom Vox Box 2012 from Influenster

The Reviews are in!!!!!

So it has been a couple weeks since I received The Mom Vox Box from Influenster.  Please note that all of these products were sent to me for review.  I want say a special Thank You to Influenster for allowing me to try out these products and review them.  I really enjoyed it and I hope to do more!

Now onto the REVIEWS!!!

Quaker Soft Baked Oatmeal Cookie

The cookie was so delicious it didn't last long enough to get a picture!  haha!  I would compare this cookie to the Pepperidge Farm cookies.  I hate to admit this but I definitely eat my share of cookies!  So I know a thing or two about what tastes good.  I really enjoyed the Quaker Soft Baked Oatmeal Cookie.  I thought the texture of the cookie was great as well as the flavor.  The only thing I would change about the cookie was the moisture.  I think the oatmeal cookie have been a bit more moist, however, that would not stop me from recommending this cookie or purchasing this cookie myself!  Definitely a Thumbs Up!!!

ImPress Press-On Manicure

I wasn't very impressed with the ImPress Press-On Manicure.  The nails didn't fit very good on my nails, some were too big others too small and others just had an odd shape.  However, I did love the color!  I had the color 170 Velvet Rope.  These nails are a great idea but they didn't even a last a day for me.  I did absolutely LOVE the packaging though!  Here is a picture of the packaging:

The price point on these nails wouldn't be too bad if they actually stayed on, but since they didn't I wold have to say that the price point is terrible.  I would have to give the ImPress Press-On Manicure a BIG Thumbs Down!!!

STASH Super Fruits Tea & Nektar

I am not a huge tea fan but I was pleasantly surprised with this tea!  I tried it hot and cold.  I think I personally prefer it cold.  The box that I received had 3 herbal teas and 3 green teas.  There was also 3 tea bags of each flavor in the box.  The flavors that I received were; Acai Berry, Blueberry Super Fruit, Yumberry Blackcurrant, Gogi Berry, Mangosteen and Pomegranate Raspberry.  I would have to say that all of these flavors were great!  (and that says a lot coming from someone who doesn't care too much for tea)  I also thought that the Nektar Honey Crystals were a nice touch but you definitely didn't need them since the tea was good all by itself!  I would give STASH Superfruits Tea & Nektar Honey Crystals a Thumbs Up!!!

DenTek Floss Picks & Fun Flossers

I LOVED these products!  The DenTek flossers were very easy to use and also comfortable on the gums.  These flossers are great for travel!  I especially like that the adult version as a plastic toothpick on the end.  I have put a few in my baby's diaper bag (since this is now my "new purse") in case I ever need them while I am out.  I will be purchasing more of these for sure!  A BIG Thumbs Up for the DenTek Flossers!!!

Ivory Bar Soap

I love that Ivory is made with all natural ingredients and that it has many different uses, but I did find that this soap made my skin feel dry and tight.  I also think it could have a better scent but I understand that when things smell nice it usually means there are chemicals involved so I can over look the scent.  I think this is a great product for someone with more oily skin.  I did use this soap in the past when my skin was a bit more oily and I found that it cleared up the blemishes on my face.  So I would give the Ivory Bar Soap an overall Thumbs Up!!!

Again, I want to thank Influenster, Quaker, ImPress, Stash, DenTek and Ivory for sending me these products to try out and review!

The Many Uses of Ivory

My first review from the Mom VoxBox will be the Ivory Soap.  I received the Ivory Bar Soap.

Please be aware that I received this product complimentary for testing/review purposes from Influenster and Ivory as I am a participant in the Mom VoxBox campaign.

I primarily used this soap as a body cleanser as I found it a bit drying when used on my face.  I enjoyed it as a body cleanser, my skin felt clean but not dry & tight.  However, this soap has many possible uses such as; body cleanser, facial cleanser. stain remover for clothing, laundry flakes, ect.

I like Ivory because the product is pure, it is not filled with harsh chemicals.  I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a good and pure body cleanser.  You could use this a facial cleanser too if you tend to have a bit more oily skin.  I think that Ivory has a good price point, I wouldn't say is the cheapest or most expensive.
